I have always had chapped lips. Ever since I can remember, I have always had problems with dry, chapped lips. I often had to buy chapstick

Petroleum jelly (or Vaseline) should be avoided - it may cause temporary relief but worsens the problem in the long run[citation needed]. Medical grade lanolin USP accelerates repair of lipsand is used in some lip repair products. One should avoid licking their lips as saliva contains the enzyme amylase, which can damage the already compromised lip tissue.

The one product i would recomment is Lip Balm , Free of petroleum, parabens, perfume and dyes

If chapping is severe and self-care measures don't seem to help, consult your doctor. Rarely, persistent chapped lips may indicate an underlying problem, such as dermatitis.
